Listening Sessions

I lead guided vinyl listening sessions with music history and discussion.

A Deeper Listen

Per session

Settle into a focused listening experience built around one carefully chosen record.

A More Personal Way to Hear Music

I guide the session from the first needle drop through the final track, sharing context about the artist, recording, and moment in music history. The pace leaves room for details that can disappear during casual listening, from arrangement choices to production textures.

Discussion is part of the experience, not an interruption. I welcome questions, observations, and different interpretations, creating a relaxed setting where the record can open up through shared attention and conversation.

Ideal For

Curious listeners who want more from their records
Vinyl collectors seeking fresh context
Small groups sharing a meaningful album
Music lovers exploring unfamiliar artists

How It Works

Choose the focus: We identify a record, artist, or musical theme for the session.
Listen together: I guide the playback with context and prompts for closer attention.
Share reflections: We discuss what stood out and connect the music to its wider story.

About

I Make Music Matter

I am 3rd Coast Candy, a vinyl DJ and physical media enthusiast who turns deep listening into shared experiences. I spin disco, funk, house, bass, and global sounds for dance floors, cultural gatherings, listening sessions, and curious music lovers. My sets are all vinyl, never auto-synced, with a focus on history, connection, and the feeling that only a record can create. I also share the stories behind the music and help keep its culture moving forward.
